Adrianne J. Hebert Engelhardt successfully completed her journey and achieved eternal rest in God’s glory on March 16, 2026. Born in New Orleans, LA on September 30, 1934, she attended McDonough High School on Esplanade, then worked for Shell Oil.
In 1955, she married Herbert J. Engelhardt, and raised a daughter and two sons. She then taught school at Our Lady Star of the Sea and Lakewood. Because of her extraordinary organizational skills and fearless work ethic, she became an administrative assistant at Coliseum House, and spent many years working in the Dean’s Office at Tulane Medical School. She loved all of her jobs and the people she met at each.
Mostly, she loved her family. Adrianne was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph G. and Mabel R. Hebert; her husband, Herb; daughter, Renee; and sister, Lorita Dauphin (Bruce). She is survived by her sons, Dr. Tod C. Engelhardt (Alicia) and Judge Kurt D. Engelhardt (Ann); six grandchildren, Kelsey L. Smith, Scott, David, Amy, and Heather Engelhardt, and Evan Dema; and her brother, Joseph G. Hebert, Jr. (Irene).
Aside from being helpful and generous to everyone she met, Adrianne loved animals, especially her pets, whom she treasured.
In her memory, donations may be made online or by mail to The National Shrine of Blessed Father Seelos, 919 Josephine St., New Orleans, LA 70130 (www.seelos.org) or the Humane Society of Louisiana, P.O. Box 740321, New Orleans, LA 70174 (www.louisianaspca.org).
