Agnes Frischhertz Moore Kessel

Agnes Mae Frischhertz Moore Kessel passed away peacefully on June 14, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on March 7, 1947, in New Orleans, Louisiana, she was the cherished daughter of Lloyd Nicholas Frischhertz, Sr. and Yvonne Ellen Dupas.

A proud graduate of St. James Major Elementary and High School, Agnes went on to earn her nursing degree from Mercy Nursing School, beginning a vocation of care as a Registered Nurse. Agnes built her life around the things that mattered most—home, family, and the joy of being together. She loved gathering for family parties, where her warmth, humor, and unmistakable presence filled the room. A creative spirit, Agnes expressed herself through art and writing, leaving behind pieces of her heart in every sketch and every word. In her later years, she found comfort, companionship, and a sense of home at Ville Ste Marie Senior Living.

Agnes was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lawrence Moore; and her eldest sister, Yvonne Frosch.

She leaves behind her devoted daughters, Deborah Moore Barnes (David) of Tampa, Florida, and Dana Kessel Keyes (John) of Wellfleet, Massachusetts. Agnes treasured her role as grandmother to Cameron Barnes, Garrett Barnes, Mary Keyes, and Nola Keyes, each of whom brought her immeasurable joy and pride. She is also survived by her siblings, Patricia Arnold, Kathleen Pilie’, Lloyd Frischhertz, Jr. (Marcelle), and Lawrence Frischhertz (Isabel), as well as many beloved extended family members and friends.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff of Ville Ste Marie Senior Living and The Sanctuary at Passages Hospice, whose kindness, dignity, and attentive care brought comfort to Agnes and her family during her final days.

Family and friends are invited to the Funeral Mass celebrating Agnes’s life on Monday, July 13, 2026, at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Boulevard, New Orleans, Louisiana 70124. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. until the mass at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow within Metairie Cemetery.
