Alice Marie Buras

Alice Marie Buras passed away peacefully on Tuesday April 5 at the age of 86. She lived life with a smile on her face and brought happiness to everyone with her special wit and charming sense of humor. She was a long time resident of New Orleans and Chalmette, La. and spent the last years in Baton Rouge. Her most treasured times were spent with her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Joseph (JC) Buras, the love of her life and her brother Joe (Sonny) Grass. She is survived by her 3 children Julie Daboval (husband Rocky), Joseph (Buddy) Buras (wife Hughette), Jed Buras (wife Empress), 4 grand children Ryan Daboval, Brandon Daboval, Jed Caleb Buras and Grantham Yenni, 5 great grandchildren Braeden, Aubrey, Julianne, Benjamin and William Daboval and her sister, Barbara (Bobbie) Nuss. Donations can be made in her memory to Alzheimer of Baton Rouge and the American Heart Assoc.

Family Visitation at 11:00am with service at 1pm at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. on Friday, April 8, 2016. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
