

Allen Hermann Heidingsfelder, Jr., 80, of Metairie, Louisiana, passed away on June 28, 2024. Allen was born in New Orleans, Louisiana at Hotel Dieu Hospital on December 8, 1943. He graduated from LSU. He married Elizabeth Bankston Heidingsfelder on August 11, 1967 and had 3 children and 6 grandchildren. Allen first worked for his father, Allen Heidingsfelder, Sr. at Louisiana School Products. He then began working as an executive in the mortgage banking industry and retired as mortgage banking consultant. Allen loved his family more than anything. He especially loved Thursday night dinners with his family, discussing history and warning them about inclement weather. His many dogs were always loved as family. He was an avid outdoorsmen and enjoyed sharing his passion with family and friends. As a gentleman, he hosted many cocktail hours with an old fashioned in hand. He was survived by his sister Karen Burmaster (Dennis), sister-in-law Peggy Steele (John), and children Anne Ehrhardt (Jason), Kristen Owens (David) and Grant Heidingsfelder (Alaina). He also leaves behind his grandchildren Jack, Henry, and Elizabeth Ehrhardt and Olivia, George, and Mary Owens. He preceded in death by his beloved wife Elizabeth Bankston Heidingsfelder, his parents Allen and Olivia Heidingsfelder, Sr., his in laws Warren and Mary Louisa Bankston and his brother-in-law Gary Bankston. The family would like to give a special thanks to the wonderful caretakers at Metairie Healthcare Center for their loving care. A Catholic funeral service was held for immediate family on Friday, July 5, 2024. A private internment was held at Metairie Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his name to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
