Known as “Amelia” to her parents, “Amy” to her husband and friends, and “Mom” and “Grammy” to her 4 daughters and their children, the beloved Amelia Jardine succumbed to the indignities of old age on 2/22/22. With an angel spirit, it is only fitting that she was chosen to transition on this date to provide her family with the knowledge of peace, harmony, and divine guidance.
In her 89 years, she quietly and gently became a strong role model to all and overcame many life challenges while still maintaining a sense of humor and a kind spirit.
Amy was born on April 12, 1932 in Boston, Massachusetts. She was the eldest daughter of Armenian immigrants and had a younger sister named Jane. Amy met, fell in love, and married her husband, Jay Jardine, on September 25th, 1960. Together, they raised four daughters: Linda Stamm (Carter), Carol Robichaux, Michele Jardine, and Janis Lovecchio (Stephen). Also blessing their lives were five grandchildren: Ashken and Anoush Stamm, Trevor and Hannah Robichaux, and Rocco Lovecchio.
Amy had the most contagious and beautiful smile and enjoyed nature, reading, puzzling, cards, games, crosswords, music, and life in general. But what made life most worthwhile to her was her family and friends. They all loved and adored her and she loved them back. She will be missed.
A visitation will be held for Amelia/Amy/Mom/Grammy at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd in New Orleans, on Monday, March 7, 2022 from 12:30 PM until 2:30 PM. A graveside service will follow in Lake Lawn Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Brookwood Community (www.brookwoodcommunity.org).
