Andrew Everett Roberts was born at Baptist Hospital August 31, 1995. Brandy had surprised me the previous winter with a positive pregnancy test after I walked into a family get together at my parent’s house. What a great surprise. Soon enough we settled on Andrew as his name. A middle name was more involved as I wanted something memorable and Brandy wanted something practical, so Jackson and a few other memorable names went by the wayside. Somehow, I convinced myself and Brandy that Everett, the name of the Saints quarterback that fall, was a good choice. Andrew liked it. He liked to stay up late and watch scary movies with his mom. He was a football fan and a soccer player growing up. Andrew was smart, but luck seemed not to favor him. So, it was with smarts and hard work that he graduated from Patrick F Taylor Science and Technology Academy and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Mathematics from LSU. The old corporate world didn’t particularly agree with Andrew, too many things were set in stone. After a few years he left to start his own successful business in crypto tokens. Andrew loved investments, charts and writing for investment newsletters for which he was often selected for publication. He was always ready for a lively debate. He kept maps and tracked all the places he had ever visited. Andrew was always ready for a Super Smash Brothers tournament and loved 90s underground hip hop. Andrew was a sensitive soul, an animal lover, a comedian with his friends and family and always ready to see the funny side of things in life. When Andrew needed a break from a bad decision, good luck did not arrive. Andrew loved his family, and we are all devastated and in disbelief. Andrew passed away on Saturday February 19, 2022 at his residence in Austin, Texas.
Andrew is survived by his mother, Brandy Kaiser (Kevin) and father John Roberts III (Jessica) as well as his sisters Lane and Reese, and brothers Ryan, John IV & Mason.
A memorial celebration of Andrew’s life will be held Saturday March 5, 2022 at 2pm. Please join his friends and family at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70124. In lieu of flowers, the Andrew E Roberts Memorial Scholarship will be established with an account at Hancock Whitney.
