Angela "Bootsie" Ramon

Angela “Bootsie” Ramon passed away peacefully on July 6, 2022 at the age of 79. She is preceded in death by her mother, Ada Roppolo, and her beloved husband, Philip Ramon, Jr. Bootsie is survived by: her children, Peggy D’Antonio (Michael), Philip Ramon, III, and Patrick Ramon (Kelli); her grandchildren, who knew her lovingly as MeMaw: Christopher and Corey Venture and Katherine, Andrew, Brady, and Brennen Ramon; and her great-grandchildren, Connor and Aiden Venture.

Bootsie was a lifelong resident of New Orleans and Harahan and graduated from Redemptorist High School. She took an active role in her children’s schooling and their extracurricular activities. Above all, her family and her role as a caretaker were the most important to her. She was a dedicated wife, daughter, mother, and grandmother throughout her life. Without fail, she was always there whenever her family needed her. She loved feeding people, and if you walked into her home, you never left hungry! Bootsie was a fun-loving person who loved dancing, music, and laughter. She enjoyed family vacations to Disney World, taking cruises, and going to casinos. Whether at her camp in Port Sulphur or travelling in the family’s Winnebago, she also enjoyed spending time outdoors, boating, fishing, and crabbing with her children and grandchildren. She will be missed and forever remembered for her witty and fiery spirit.

The family would like to extend their special thanks to Keiyana for taking such good care of her in her final days.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend services on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home at 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans 70124. Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., with a noon mass immediately following visitation. Interment will take place at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations in Bootsie’s name to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (alzfdn.org/support-us/donate/).
