Anna Jean Sell Guidry passed away in New Orleans on Monday, October 30, 2023 at the age of 92.

Beloved wife of the late Clifford Andrew Guidry.

Mother of Clifford Guidry, Jr. (Susan), Janet Guidry, Laura G. King (Rodney), Karen G. Comstock (Thomas), and John L. Guidry.

Grandmother of Leslie Guidry (Lonnie), Andrew Guidry (Mallory), Joseph Eberhardt, Jennifer Eberhardt, Kristin Harris, Dana Comstock, Sarah C. Sakallah (Zachariah), and Claire Comstock. Step grandmother of Jamie and Andrew. Great grandmother of Gage, Emma, Camden, Samantha, Noah, Michael, Dominick, Blake, Alyssa, Andi, Abel, and Thomas. Great step grandmother of Caitlyn. Sister of the late Gladys Sell Simoneaux (Warren), Edward Sell (Mimi), Robert Sell, John A. Sell (Ginger) and Richard Sell.

Daughter of the late John and Anna Konkey Sell.

She grew up in Chicago, Il. There, she graduated from Bohen High and Secretarial School. She met her husband, while he was stationed with the Navy, in Chicago. They married and moved to the Lakeview Community of New Orleans, LA.

She worked as a legal assistant for the Small Business Administration of the Federal Government. She was an avid reader and always stayed up to date on current events. She loved God and her family & friends more than anything in the world. She devoted herself to service and acts of kindness.

Anna was a faithful parishioner of St. Dominic Catholic Church. She had a devotion to St. Jude. She prayed to him for the intercession of protection for her family and for peace; Peace in our hearts, peace in our families and peace in the world.

Anna was a member of the Lakeview Civic Association and the Lakeview Shepherd Center. She was very active at the Shepard Center and had many friends there. She loved her German heritage and was a member and volunteer at the Deutsches Haus.

She will be greatly missed by her family and community.

The Funeral Mass was held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd in New Orleans, on Thursday, November 2, 2023.
