

Annabelle Boone Monnerjahn, aged 90, died peacefully on September 26, 2017 at Concordia Nursing and Rehabilitation in Loudon, TN, after a lengthy struggle with dementia. Annabelle was born on December 26th, 1926, in New Orleans, Louisiana, fourth daughter of the late Frank Henry Boone and Lucina Matherne Boone. On December 12, 1945, she married the love of her life, Andrew Robert Monnerjahn. They set up their home in New Orleans where they were blessed with two children, James Harold Monnerjahn and Barbara Ann Monnerjahn. She was further blessed with six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, preferring to be at home for her family. She enjoyed all the activities of homemaking, including cooking, gardening, crochet, reading, and caring for the family. In her later years, she especially enjoyed the company of her canine pets, pugs Buffy and Daisy. She was preceeded in death by her parents, Frank and lLucina Boone, her husband, Andrew Monnerjahn, her sisters, Melba Martin, Lydia Rushing, Myrtle LaNoue,Dorothy Kanzig, brothers Daniel and Vincent Boone. She is survived by her children, James Monnerjahn (wife Lisa) and Barbara Monnerjahn, grandchildren James Monnerjahn II (wife Jeannette), Melanie Monnerjahn, Andrew Piskur, Matthew Monnerjahn (wife Nicole), Jessica Hopkins (husband Scot Fleshman), and Danny Heymann, eight great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124, on Friday, October 6, 2017 beginning at 12:00 noon followed by a Catholic funeral mass at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Metairie Cemetery.
