

Anthony Louis Buccola passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, Nov 3, 2015. Anthony, also affectionately known as Junior and Tony, was born April 14, 1930 to the late Jeanne Dellavelle and late Anthony Buccola. He was the beloved husband of 58 years to Mary Ellen Alcantara Buccola and proud father of Linda Buccola Kieffer wife of Joel Kieffer of Sulphur, La, Lori Buccola, Lisa Buccola and Laurie Sanders. He was a graduate of Samuel J. Peters High School and then proudly served his country in the United States Army and La National Guard. He was honorably discharged as a Master Sergeant, accommodated as a Sharpshooter and Expert Marksman. After leaving the army, he went to work for Strachen Shipping Co. beginning in the mailroom and working his way to becoming their youngest Line Manager. Tony eventually joined his wife to help establish Buccola Mckenzie Realtors. After many successful years in Real Estate, Tony retired and enjoyed his passion for golf, with his buddies and was proud of 3 holes in one - none of which was his best golf shot. He was preceded in death by his sister Florence Buccola Resor. He is survived by his brothers Emile Buccola and Harold Buccola. He is also lovingly survived by his granddaughter Karley Maria Stein, grandsons Joel (Joey) Kieffer, Jr. wife Ashley and sons Cole and Case of Kingwood, Tx, Bryan Kieffer and wife Sarah of Conroe, Tx, Joshua Kieffer, wife Segie and daughter Harlan of Conroe, Tx, and Brandon Kieffer of Sulphur, La. He was also the proud foster grandfather of Nicole Coleman. He will be sadly missed by a large traditional Italian family and countless friends. Tony will be remembered as a man of faith and a true family man. He was greatly respected and loved by all who knew him. Tony was always smiling and his sense of humor was contagious. Tony was always positive and saw beauty in everything. He will be truly missed – he is our sunshine.
Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Tony’s life on Friday, Nov. 6, 2015 at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. with visitation from 8:30-10, mass 10:00 with graveside service following in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
