Arthur Duffel

Arthur Duffel passed away on January 12, 2024 at the age of 94. He was born on April 3, 1929 in New Orleans, Louisiana. After graduating high school, he went on to serve his country in the United States Army. Following his honorable discharge in 1953, he went on to a long career as a banker.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Patsy Silva Duffel; grandson, Clint Sweat; and parents, Oscar Duffel and Marcelle Raymond.

Arthur is survived by his wife of 34 years, Louella B. Duffel; son, Raymond Duffel (Vickie); daughter, Cynthia Smith; grandchildren, Chad Sweat (Tiffany), Holly Laurent (Beau), Jareth Smith, Kyle Duffel (Jordan), Collin Duffel, Michael Smith, Blaise Kenney, and Bryce Kenney; great grandchildren, CJ Sweat, Madison Sweat, Madelyn Laurent, Aubrey Laurent, Brantley Duffel, Kaleb Duffel, and Kolton Dubois; step-children, Lydia Holmes (John), Michael Holmes, and Wayne Holmes (Debbie); and a host of step grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service in the chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd in New Orleans, on Friday, January 19, 2024 at 2 PM. Visitation will begin at 1 PM. After the chapel service, Arthur will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery.
