August George “Bob” Pavlovich passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2020 at the age of 88. Born on October 26, 1931 in New Orleans, Louisiana. He attained the rank of Master Sargent (MSG) in the U.S> Army. Bob spent over 30 years as office manager of Advance Paper and Export Co., Inc. of New Orleans; prior to that, he was office manager for International Basic Economy Corporation (IBEC) and was employed at Hill Stores.
He was a lifelong parishioner of St. Lawrence the Martyr Parish and served on the finance and other committees. Bob was also a member of the World Trade Club of Greater New Orleans.
He is preceded in death by his father, Ostoja Pavlovich, his mother Annie Muhoberac Pavlovich, his sister, Shirley Pavlovich Roach, and his wife Lillian Elizabeth Pavlovich (neé Erath).
Bob is survived by his daughter, Diane Marie Pavlovich and his son, Robert G. Pavlovich, Sr. (wife, Diane Michelle Lala); his grandchildren, Ashley Elizabeth Peterson (husband, Benjamin Allen), Robert G. Pavlovich, Jr. (wife, Elice LeBreton Pavlovich and great-grandson August William Pavlovich), Brett Jeffrey Pavlovich, and Jason Michael Pavlovich.
August was also known in his later years as “Candyman” to those who would serve him in restaurants and diners. He loved sharing star brites, peppermints, butterscotch, and for the more daring, red-hot cinnamon candies as his way of expressing thanks and appreciation for their service.
Due to the times in which we live, a celebration of his life is expected to be held later in 2020.
