

He was born October 16, 1941 in Pensacola, Florida to Margaret Mitchell Archie and Burnett Morgan Ballard.
He grew up in Prattville, Alabama, and graduated from Autauga County High School in 1960. He attended Clarke Junior College in Mississippi and later attended Jacksonville State University, also in Alabama. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve Unit 377 for six years.
He worked forty years in the sale of automotive parts, electronics, and music equipment. He was an active parishioner at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church where he served as head usher since 1981. He was an avid Saints fan.
He is survived by his loving wife Joyce, his brother Royce W. Ballard (Katy), his sister Virginia B. Martinelli and a host of nieces and nephews and his beloved “pups” Fifi and Buddy.
He is predeceased by his mother Margaret M. Archie, his father Burnett Morgan Ballard, his step-father Troy D. Archie and his brother Kenneth Wayne Ballard.
Arrangements are pending, service times to be announced at a later date. Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
