Barbara Ann Gelpi Paci

Our much loved mother, Grandma, and Sweet Gran went to her eternal reward on Friday, December 29, 2023. She was 85. Mom was born on July 28, 1938 to the late Walter and Josephine Lore Gelpi. She was a doting wife to the late Joseph Victor Paci, and the loving mother of Joseph Jr. (Julie), Gina, James, Janet (Mark), and John (Anne). She was adored by her grandchildren: Chad, Rebecca, Kenny, Genevieve, Katherine, Gabriela, Joseph, and Christina. She would proudly say that she had 13 great grandchildren: Colton, Patrick, Miriam, Joan, Camden, Evangeline, Theo, Harry, Sylvia, Gemma, Rory, Mabel, and Marguerite. Mom leaves behind one brother, David, and his children, David Michael, Brian, Danielle, and Lauren. She was a proud graduate of St. Joseph’s on Tulane. Mom was a terrific cook, her speciality being Italian food, for her “Honey”. Her kids remember coming home from school every day to the delicious smells coming from her kitchen. She would like everyone to know that biscotti is pronounced “bis-coh-tee.” She was the matriarch of our family, and loved greatly by all. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at 11:00 AM (Visitation starts at 9:30 AM) at St. Mary Magdalen Church 6425 West Metairie Ave Metairie, LA 70003. Private Burial will be held after Mass.
