Bernadette C. Impastato, 71, passed away on December 3, 2016 in Metairie, Louisiana. She is preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Gaetana Impastato; grandparents, Salvatore and Fara Impastato, and Ignatius and Maria Samaritano. She is survived by her sister, Fara Impastato; sister, Maria Impastato; brother, Salvatore Impastato (Vivian); sister, Jane Lala (Leonard); nieces and nephews, Peter, Mary, Karen, Robert, Joseph, Stephen, Christopher, Regina, Nicholas, Vincent, Renata, Jeremy and Bonnie. Bernie grew up in Gentilly, and attended school and church at St. Leo the Great Parish. She also worked for the family business at The Napoleon House until 2015. She was known for having a pure and child like spirit. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Metairie Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 11:00 a.m.
