Bessie Mae Zeringue Melius

Bessie Mae Zeringue Melius, age 91 years, passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at her home in Metairie, LA. She was born March 28, 1924 in Raceland, LA. She was predeceased by her loving husband Thomas William Melius, Jr., her daughter Janet Marie Melius, her parents Octave Francois and Marie Annie Bourgeois Zeringue, and five brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by her son Timothy David Melius (Ann Steinhardt) and her daughter Patricia Melius Fabacher (Dr. Christopher), grandchildren Thomas William Melius, III, Caroline Ann Melius, Courtney Fabacher Guste (Dr. John), Megan Fabacher Johnson (Aaron), and great grandchildren Clayton, Emerson, and Ellen Guste, and Prescott Johnson.

Bess was a former Registered Nurse and a member of the Garden Club and Entre Nous Book Club. She was also a member of Metairie Country Club where she enjoyed golfing and playing bridge. She was a parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church. The family would like to thank her best friend, Geralyn Moore, and Kierra Sanders, Dawn Lewis and Cara Mackey for their dedicated care.
