Betty Reinike Dubuisson

Betty Reinike Dubuisson passed away peacefully at her home on August 19, 2024, in Kenner, Louisiana. She was 85 years old. Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Robert William Dubuisson. She was the loving mother of Candace Dubuisson Kytle (Kevin) and Robin Dubuisson Caldwell (Stephen). The lights of her life were her three granddaughters, Allison Elizabeth Caldwell, Brooke Elizabeth Caldwell, and Caroline Candace Caldwell and her treasured great-grandson Myles Stephen Caldwell.

Betty was born in Gulfport, Mississippi on September 27, 1938. She was the daughter of the late Chester H. Reinike and Edna Latil Reinike and sibling of Henrietta Reinike, Victor C., Bernard H., Ray and Roy Reinike, Elizabeth Reinike, Irma Reinike, Thelma R. Bistes, Marie R. Cassidy and Mildred “Millie” Reinike Perrier. She is survived by two sisters, Catherine “Sissy” Reinike Cooper and Dolores Reinike Hendon and her brother Vernon R. Reinike (Stephanie), her sister-in-law, Beverly Dubuisson Ulrich (Kenny) and many nieces and nephews.

Betty and her husband Bob owned and operated Betty & Bob’s Grocery in Long Beach, Mississippi for 30 years before they decided to move to the New Orleans area to be near their daughters. Betty enjoyed watching sports and was an avid LSU and Saints fan. She loved family gatherings and dining out at great New Orleans restaurants. She will be missed by her loving family and many great friends and her memory will be cherished forever.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Boulevard, New Orleans, Louisiana. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 12 Noon and Mass will be said at 12 Noon in the funeral home chapel by long - time family friend, Father Thomas McCann.
