Betty Ridley Hammer, a resident of New Orleans, LA. and Picayune, MS., passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2014 at the age of 88. She is survived by her husband, Richard A. Hammer, Sr.; four sons, Richard A. Hammer, Jr. (Delphine), David C. Hammer, Douglas J. Hammer, and Michael R. Hammer (Dana); two daughters, Mary Elizabeth Rohr (Bill) and Miriam T. Austin (Van); seven grandchildren, Richard III, Catherine, Clint, Charles, Randy, Blake, and Nicholas; and eleven brothers and sisters. She was preceded in death by her father, Oscar Ridley; mother, Annie Holmes Ridley; and daughter, Angela Marie Butz. A native of Shreveport, LA., she was a real estate agent, and a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Kenner.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at 1:00PM. Interment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 11:00AM.
