Beverly Ann Beoubay Chauffe on Friday, August 24, 2018 . Mimi spread her wings and flew away at the age of 82. After a long fight with ovarian cancer, this beautiful, wonderful lady whom everyone loved, lost the battle.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Edgar Paul Chauffe, Jr.; her five children, Ronald Paul Chauffe, Vicky Chauffe Martin (Steve), Linda Chauffe Kiefer, Donna Ann Chauffe (Lisa), and Michael Chauffe; grandchildren, Ryan Martin (Brittney), Megan Kiefer (Danielle), Dean Chauffe, Nat Kiefer III, Royce Martin, Dr. Holly Martin, Chelsea Kiefer (Brad), Dr. Colby Kiefer, Mallory Kiefer, and the late Margo Kiefer; great grandchildren, Preston Kiefer, Marcel Martin, and Monica Martin. She was preceded in death by her mother, Alvernia Nourrcier Beoubay (August); father, August “Buddy” Beoubay (Ferel); brother, Donald Beoubay; step-brothers, Fred Hart (Betty) and Oliver White (Peggy); and her aunt, Emma Nourrcier Sevin (Bill), who raised her in her young years.
Beverly was loved by all, especially her family, but she loved them more, including all of her friends, past and present. She was extremely grateful for the Catholic nuns who fought to teach all her children, and instill the morality and competitiveness that they still carry today.
A special mention of Sr. Cynthia Knowles, who remained a dear friend throughout her and her children’s lives. A lot of her friends are great cooks, and so was she, but she couldn’t give you a recipe because she cooked by taste. Probably, if butter or olive oil was not at hand she was lost. She once said, let’s open a restaurant. I said, no, we couldn’t afford the butter.
She had many friends throughout life, there aren’t many left, but she was proud to have known and been involved with all of them. If you have time to visit, please do. If not, keep her in your prayers and thoughts.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at 12 noon. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place at All Saints Mausoleum in Metairie Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her memory to your special wishes.
