Beverly Bernos Hobbs went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, September 5, 2021. She is survived by her daughter, Beverly Hobbs Shea, and three grandsons, RJ Shea III, Colin C. Shea (Christen), and Reid P. Shea (Christine), as well as four great-granddaughters. She was predeceased by her husband, Atwood B. Hobbs, Jr. and son, Atwood B. Hobbs III. She is also survived by her sister, Odessa B. Rutter, and was predeceased by both her brother, Milton J. Bernos, Jr. as well as her parents.
Beverly’s sole delight was in having her family around her. She loved the Lord and spent her entire life growing in her Christian faith and was devoted to, and caring for, her family. She radiated love and compassion, and was a wonderful example of gentleness and kindness. She will be greatly missed. Her family misses her greatly, but takes comfort in knowing that she is at peace in the arms of God and filled with the peace that passes all understanding that will carry us through this challenging time.
The family wishes to thank Dr. James Robinson and Interim Hospice.
In lieu of flowers or Masses, the family would be honored to know that a donation would be made to the Northshore Food Bank/Second Harvest, or Operation Blessing c/o Christian Broadcasting Network (Virginia Beach, VA).
A private service at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home in New Orleans, with interment in Metairie Cemetery, was held on Thursday, September 8, 2021.
