Obituary of Beverly Campisi Kastler
Beverly Campisi Kastler was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend. Surrounded by loved ones, she passed peacefully on July 30, 2022 at the age of 73, after a courageous battle with multiple cancers and illnesses. Diagnosed twelve years ago, Beverly fought to live so she could create memories with her beloved family. Despite her daily challenges, she tried her best to face each day with her “Pollyanna” attitude. She was an inspiration and a living miracle! Born and raised in New Orleans, Beverly received her Masters in Library Science from LSUNO. She was employed in the New Orleans library system as a librarian for many fulfilling years. Then, she met the love of her life, Everett. They married after only six months and celebrated forty-nine married years together. After starting their family, Beverly chose to devote her time to raise their two daughters, Laura and Julie. During that time, Beverly was extremely involved in her girls’ school, St. Andrew the Apostle in Algiers. She eventually went back to work at Christ the King in Terrytown as the development director and librarian. Being the wife of a geologist, Beverly was a longtime member of NOGA (New Orleans Geological Auxiliary). She served on the board for many years as a director, vice president and president. She chaired many committees and was awarded the Outstanding Service Award in 2000 and received the Loyalty Award in 2013. Beverly lived to travel! She enjoyed planning fabulous adventures with her family. She also had a passion for sewing. She was an extremely talented quilter and created special personalized quilts that her family and dear friends will cherish forever. Beverly spent countless hours crocheting blankets and creating comfort bags for police stations, women’s shelters etc. She said that was her way to thank God for giving her more precious time on Earth with the ones she loved. Beverly, affectionately known as Mimi, adored her three grandsons, Thomas, Henry and Charlie. Nothing brought her more happiness or joy than her two girls or her three precious boys. She was an amazing woman and her spirit will live on with her family and their memories. They believe, “If something makes you sad when it ends, it must have been pretty wonderful when it was happening.” Beverly was extraordinary. May she rest in the love and comfort of Jesus and live on forever in our hearts. Beverly is survived by her husband, Everett Kastler; daughters, Laura Perere and Julie French; sons-in-law, Brad Perere and Richard French; grandsons, Thomas Perere, Henry Perere, and Charles Perere. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Jeanne Campisi. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 12:00PM. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 11:00AM. The interment will follow the Mass in Metairie Cemetery at All Saints Mausoleum.
