Bill Valigosky

October 13, 1956May 10, 2018

William “Bill” Valigosky peacefully passed away at his home surrounded by his wife, Mary, and their son, Brian, on May 10, 2018 at the age of 61. Bill was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio—a fact that contradicted his southern spirit, fondness of seersucker and love of all things LSU. Bill and Mary recently celebrated their wonderful marriage of 32 years. Their son, Brian, was the light of his life and best friend. They rarely missed a football game or a tailgate for their beloved Bengal Tigers. Bill found enjoyment and a special bond with Brian through athletics. Bill treasured the time he spent with Brian coaching his baseball and basketball teams at Carrollton Boosters Organization. His greatest joy was watching Brian and his teammates on the baseball field. Bill was the guy on the bucket outside the dugout anxiously awaiting every call. If he was not with his family at a sporting event, you could surely find him on the golf links of Stonebridge. He has always loved the game and camaraderie of his friends. Rest assured, even if he was not the best golfer that day, he was always the best dressed! In addition to Brian and Mary, Bill leaves behind Robert (Patty) Valigosky, Linda (Tom) Clark, Cathy (Wally) Johnson, and a host of fabulously loved nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Virginia Valigosky and sister, Peggy Valigosky. Services will be at St. Dominic Church, 775 Harrison Ave. in New Orleans, on Tuesday, May 15, 2018, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and Catholic Mass following at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The V Foundation, The Carrollton Boosters or a charity of your choice. The family invites you to share your thoughts, fond memories, and condolences online at

Many memories with Mr. Bill at the LSU Football games. I always had a blast sitting next to ya'll at the games. I am happy I got to sit with ya'll on the hottest days at the games and share my mist fan Mrs. Mary. LOL! Fun Times! I will miss Mr. Bill. Mrs. Mary and Brian, You both are in my thoughts and prayers. I am so sorry I couldn't be there today. I am always thinking of you both. I am here for you if you need anything.

So many wonderful memories that we have shared over the past 25+ years of friendship with Bill and Mary both pre and post children for us. Then we have LSU football games (and sitting next to each other), New Year's Day bingo games at our house, house visits after Katrina while we were living on the West bank and so much more. We love this family so much, and will miss Bill dearly. Mary and Brian, we are here for you always, and our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time.
