Brian Joseph Milligan

We are saddened to share the passing of Brian Joseph Milligan, who was born on May 1, 1957, in Salina, Kansas, and passed away on August 14, 2026, at the age of 69. Brian was a graduate of East Jefferson High School and Delta Community College. He spent some if his career as a proud member of the Central South Carpenters Union, an experience that eventually led him to become a contractor and the owner of Milligan’s Construction LLC. Later in life, Brian began a new chapter in medical device sales.

Brian will be remembered for his sense of humor, his love of life, and the many things that brought him joy. He enjoyed fishing, auto racing, crawfish boils, and cheering on his beloved New Orleans Saints and LSU Tigers. Above all, Brian cherished time with his family, especially his grandchildren, who held a very special place in his heart. The memories, laughter, and moments shared with him will be treasured always.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Milligan, and his nephew, Brendon Milligan.

Brian is survived by his mother, Barbara Duhon Milligan; his daughters, Nicole Milligan Suggs (Shawn), Corin Milligan Collins (Cody), and Brianna Milligan; his brothers, Barry Milligan (Cherie), Thomas “Tommy” Milligan (Nicole), and Kirk Milligan; and his beloved grandchildren, Nicholas James Ward, Noah Lindsley Ward, Luke Douglas Suggs, Abby Grace Suggs, Cate Avery Collins, and Camden Oliver Collins. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Ryan (Taylor), Brittany (Trey), Stacey (Kevin), Megan (Chad), Caitlyn (Garrett), and Celine (David), along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

Brian leaves behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, and love that will live on through his family and all who knew him. His memory will remain in the hearts of those who loved him, and the moments shared with him will be cherished for years to come. May he rest in eternal peace.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at the chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, Louisiana, on Thursday, August 27, 2026. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by Mass at 12:00 p.m. Interment will be private.
