

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brunét Joseph Romain, Sr. 11/12/1933-3/13/2024. Brunét was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who dedicated his life to his family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Henrietta "Sue" Patin Romain and Clifford Romain; his two sisters, Clare Bidol (John Bidol) and Cherry Legeaux (Ignatius Legeaux Sr.); His wife, Gwendolyn Foster Romain; and his eldest daughter, Suzanne Romain. He is survived by 5 children: Giselle Romain Relf (Ricardo Relf), Tina Romain Territa (Michael Territa, deceased), Brunét J "Jay" Romain, Jr. (Natalie Carlisle Romain), Tracey Romain Fletes (Alejandro Fletes Jr.) and Misty Romain; 16 Grandchildren: Casey, Devin, Megan, Duane.(Suzanne) Jason, Chelsea, Kristin.(Giselle) Amber, Anthony, Caitlyn, Briana.(Tina) Jordan, Kaylie.(Jay) Gabriela, Alejandro lll (Tracey) Brandon.(Misty). He is also survived by a multitude of nieces, nephews and great grandchildren. Brunét served in the Navy and worked as a mail handler at the United States Post Office for 38 years retiring in 2004. He was known for his strong work ethic and dedication. Brunét's family was his greatest source of happiness in life. He adored his "Pretty One" as a loving husband and cherished his six wonderful children as a dedicated father. Several years following the passing of his beloved wife, Brunèt crossed paths with his close companion, Kay Verdi. They shared numerous precious moments together and were practically inseparable, with Kay becoming a loving and integral member of the family. In his free time, Brunét enjoyed sports, music, and dancing. He also liked taking long walks and warmly greeting those he encountered, never allowing anyone to remain a stranger for too long. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his infectious smile, and his unwavering love for his family. Brunét achieved victory in this world when he dedicated his life to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Brunét Joseph Romain Sr. will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. We know that our Father in heaven has welcomed him with open arms. Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA on Monday, March 25, 2024.
