Byron Christopher Marks passed away peacefully on November 9, 2025, at the age of 79. Born in New Orleans, LA., Byron was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and businessman whose humor, warmth, and generosity touched everyone he met.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Mary Ann Olejnik Marks; his children, Melissa M. Jennings (Tony), Shannon C. Marks (Allison), and Christy (Shae) Denichola (Michael); grandchildren, Alex, Taylor, Caroline (Jon Adam), Molly, Alvin, Chase, and Luke; his special nephew, Jay Scariano; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Llewellyn Guillot Marks and Everard W. Marks; his sister, Llewellyn M. Scariano; and his brother, Everard W. Marks, Jr.
For over the span of 50+ years, Byron was the proud owner of various companies, including Crescent Oil & Supply, Inc., Marks Automotive Distributor, and Mailmar, Inc. He will be remembered for his entrepreneurial spirit and love of family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial gathering at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, from 10:00AM until 12:00PM. The interment will follow the gathering in Metairie Cemetery.
