Carl Mayer Kaufman, Jr., age 82, died Saturday, October 24, 2026 in Aventura, FL. Carl was born July 7, 1944 in Memphis, TN but considered himself a native of New Orleans, LA where he was a lifelong Saints fan. He loved being with his family and was an incredibly generous, loving father, husband, and a proud grandparent. Carl was a force to be reckoned with. He loved golf, poker, and gambling, especially when he was winning. If there was a party, Carl could find it. Early in life, he became an exceptional sales executive, mentoring many and bringing a signature flair and panache that elevated the schemata industry. He was a raconteur who took joy in sharing stories of his exotic travels. He was exceptionally charming and had a quick wit. He discovered his love of communication at Bradley University. He wrote as well as he spoke and had been writing more in recent years. He was recently featured in "Who's Who in America" - an honor he was proud of. Carl was an incredible father who worked very hard to provide for both of his children. If you asked him, he'd probably say his most treasured role was as a husband, champion, and cheerleader to his wife of over 60 years, with whom he shared a love affair for the ages. Carl, despite his boisterous presence, was a loving softy when talking about his wife and family.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Dianna Kaufman; his daughter, Carla Kaufman Sloan & husband, Chris Sloan; his son, Carey Kaufman & wife Ann Schnieders Kaufman; and his grandchildren: Eve Mayer Kaufman, Caleb Finzi Sloan, and Clyde Matthew Kaufman, his brothers Irwin Kaufman & wife Dawn Kaufman, Perry Kaufman & wife Susie Gold-Kaufman and cousins Steven Ackermann & wife Meg Ackermann.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Kaufman, Sr. & Celia Jane Caldwell Kaufman; Aunt Helen Ackermann & Uncle Kurt Ackermann; grandparents Melanie & Percy Kaufman; and his beloved grandson, Calder Jacob Sloan.
