Carl F. Saizan, Sr. passed away peacefully in his sleep at Heritage Manor Nursing Home. He was in the care of St. Catherine’s Hospice in Slidell, LA when he entered into the gates of Heaven on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at the age of 87.
Carl was born on August 21, 1933 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to Olga Bergeron and Leon Saizan. He graduated from St. Aloysius and then joined the Army National Guard where he served for six years. Carl became a member of law enforcement and joined the NOPD in 1958 and served the City of New Orleans for 22 years, during which time he was also recognized with Awards and Letters of Commendations. Lee’s was a big part of Carl’s life and he looked forward to standing in front of the grill and conversing with his customers on a daily basis. Carl and his wife Laura enjoyed traveling with their family throughout the United States. Later, they traveled in an RV where sometimes they would pick up odd jobs for fun. They also enjoyed going to the casino. Carl was also a joke-teller always wanting to make you have a good laugh. Carl will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
