Born in Olancho, Honduras, Central America; Carmen emigrated from Honduras to New Orleans, LA years ago, the place where she called Home. She was self-employed for many years and retired from the Fairmont Hotels (now Roosevelt) in New Orleans. Carmen will be missed dearly by the many Local Educators she served with her Housekeeping Skills.
Carmen is preceded in death by her late husband, Mike Sand, Sr. She is survived by her Son, Mike Sand, Jr (Yeska), and granddaughters Mayeska and Isabella Sand. She also leaves behind many Friends she called Family, especially Lorena Tejeda who was like a daughter to her.
Relatives and Friends are invited to a Funeral Mass on Friday November 5th, 2021 from 2 pm to 3 pm at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home & Cemeteries - 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70124
The family wants to thank Passage Hospice (especially Booke, Lynnell, and Lynette) for their personal excellent care to Carmen during her illness. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
