IN THE CARE OF

Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home & Cemeteries

Carol Becker, 89, of Kenner Louisiana, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2026

Born in Wheatland, Wyoming, on November 27, 1936, Carol was the daughter of Cavil and Lura Lisle Bright and sister of Lyle Bright and Lee Harris. Carol’s first 11 years were spent on the family farm in Ft. Laramie, WY. At a young age, she learned the joys of working with her hands and nurturing those around her.

In 1954 she married the love of her life and wonderful protector, George Becker. As an air force man, they were constantly on the move when their children were young. Carol lived in nine different states as well as England. Soon after George retired from the military, a job opportunity took them to Grand Prairie, Texas and then Kenner, Louisiana, where Carol spent the last 51 years of her life.

Carol was the proud mother of Brian Becker, Mark Becker (Kim), Tami Jones (Steve) and Tim Becker. She was grandmother to 4: Amie Guillie (Mike), Mark Becker (Nicole), Eric Jones and Chad Jones (Noreen). She was blessed to be great grandmother to 6.

Carol worked for 10 years with George as manager of the New Orleans office of a national premium auditing company. She also served as a volunteer with Bible Study Fellowship International for 13 years. Carol loved to work with her hands, crafting, knitting, sewing and crocheting. She loved to read and play cards with her friends. Her most precious treasure was her Christian faith.

In addition to her parents, Carol was predeceased by her husband, George Becker; her brother, Lyle Bright; and her eldest son, Brian Becker.

A private family service will be held for Carol on August 22, 2026.
