Carol Nick O'Connor

Carol Nick O’Connor died peacefully at her home in Metairie on March 22, 2016 with her three sons by her side. She was born to Esther and Louis Nick, Sr. on September 20, 1934 in New Orleans and lived in Metairie for the past 38 years. She married Harold F. O’Connor in August 1953, with whom she celebrated 53 years of marriage before his death in 2006. She is survived by sons Harold W. O’Connor (Carla), Timothy M. O’Connor (Lisa) and Scott A. O’Connor, sisters Marietta Herrle (George) and Patsy Cooper, brother Louis A. Nick, Jr. (Alyson), grandsons Michael A. O’Connor (Sydney), Ryan P. O’Connor, Matthew A. O’Connor and Mason D. O’Connor (Danielle Ayers), great grandchildren Jack and Collins Elizabeth who brought joy and exuberance to her life, and eight nieces and nephews. She cherished her many friends, especially Maureen, and members of the Retiree’s Club of IBEW Local 130, the Delta Golden Age Club, and the Red Hats. She was grateful for the care, kindness and love given by Irma, Alicia, Pat, Sylvia and Laurie and for Passages Hospice service in the past two months. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to gather in memory of Carol at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. Interment in Metairie Cemetery will be private.
