Her unique eye could combine American Art Pottery, a Louis XV secretary, Central American textiles and Chinese Scrolls into something fresh and visually harmonious. Carol’s desire to share this gift, combined with a knack for numbers and a business degree from LSU, led her to The Quarterstitch needlepoint shop on Jackson Square in the 1970s and then to opening C. Susman Antiques and Collectibles on Magazine Street. She loved talking to her customers, who came from all over the country to find something beautiful and unique from her collection that they could bring back to their homes.
Carol was a fixture in her neighborhood, always seen riding her bike everywhere, and sitting on her porch with her beloved pets who found a home with her. Connecting with the people in her community brought her joy.
She is survived by her daughter Erin F. Borovoy, her son-in-law Rick Borovoy and her grandchildren, Eli Borovoy and Maddie Borovoy.
