

Carolee Morton passed peacefully away, surrounded by family, into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on April 14, 2025. Carolee was born in New Orleans on October 14, 1940. She was 84 years old. She was the loving wife of Frederick (Rick) Morton for 49 years. Carolee was the cherished daughter of Irvin Dussom and Margaret Vieages Dussom. She is survived by her two sons, Eric Morton (Zhanna) and Dan Morton (Allison) and her grandchildren; EJ, Juliana, Bennett, Ella, Brynn, and Bryan. She was the sweetest sister of Peggy Dussom Roberts (Nash), and Irvin Dussom, Jr. (Joy). She is also survived by her loving niece Margaret, Gretchen, Marissa, Holly, and Maggie, as well as her nephews, Nash, Paul, Grant, and Robert. She was the rock of our family and will be missed by us all. Carolee graduated from St. James Major Elementary, Mt. Carmel Academy, and LSUNO. She worked at The United Fruit Company as an interpreter and secretary. After moving to Daphne, Alabama she worked for Hunter Securities where she was truly loved. Her secretarial and manager skills were outstanding. Carolee was so kind, helpful, and compassionate to all who knew her. Her love of family and friends will be in our hearts forever. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 12:00 noon at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 11:00am. Interment in Lake Lawn Park and Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity in her name.
