
Carolyn Ward Quittner born November 2, 1930 to Tolliver William Ward and Martha Ruth White in Grand County, Arkansas passed away peacefully in her uptown home on Friday, December 9, 2016 at the age of 86. She graduated from Little Rock Senior High School in 1948. She earned her Bachelor's degree in medical technology from the University of Arkansas Medical Center in 1967. In 1980, she completed her Masters of Science in Biochemistry at the University of Arkansas Medical School. She was an Associate Professor of medical technology at the University of Ohio Rio Grande. In 1992, she and her husband moved to New Orleans to be closer to their family in retirement. She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Dr. Howard Quittner, son Richard Alan Stewart (Elizabeth), sister Dorothy Ward Rogers (Vernon), Andy Quittner (Kay), Ian Quittner (Stephanie), and seven adoring grandchildren: Dr. Austin Stewart, Lane Stewart, Mathew Stewart, Laura Stewart, Marin Stewart, Ethan Quittner and Hanna Quittner. She was preceded in death by her son Dr. Kelly Randolph Stewart, brother Claude Max Ward, sister Jean Ward Rand and step-son Harlan Quittner. Her family will celebrate her life in a private ceremony during the holiday season.
