Casta Isabel Vindel Sage

Casta Isabel Vindel Sage, age 91, of La Masica, Atlantida, Honduras passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2023. She was born April 24, 1932 to the late Maria Torres Vindel and Augusto Vindel. Casta worked as an Accountant at Evans Cooperage for many years. She was a Eucharistic Minister who served the Catholic Church and a longtime parishioner at St. Angela Merici Church. Casta enjoyed traveling and working in her rose garden. She found pleasure in baking cookies and making fudge every Christmas. Most importantly, Casta loved spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her beloved spouse, Donald Edward Sage of 17 years; her sisters, Corina Pineda and Celina Vindel and her brother, Augusto Vindel.

Casta is survived by her daughters, Donna Sage Vance (Jim) and Mary Sage Johannes (Lon); her sons, Joseph A. Sage (Darlene), William P. Sage and Russell L. Sage; her sister, Lucy Vindel and her brother, Modesto Vindel. She is also survived by twenty-two grandchildren and thirty great-grandchildren and a host of many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd in New Orleans. Visitation will begin at 10:00AM followed by Mass at 11:00AM. Interment will take place at All Saints Mausoleum in Metairie Cemetery. A Reception will follow in Lake Lawn's Event Center from 12:30PM- 2:30PM.
