Catalina (Tia) Salgado, 92, a life-long resident of New Orleans and Jefferson Parish passed away peacefully on July 25, 2022. She was born a Catholic on December 25, 1929 in Havana, Cuba. She was proud of being US citizen for over 60 years. She was a manicurist for the Hyatt Regency, Maison Blanche and several beauty salons in uptown and downtown New Orleans.
She is preceded in death by her parents Carlota Rodriguez and Jose Salgado, her sisters Conchita and Consuelo and her brothers Julio, Pepito, and Masemito.
She is survived by her beloved great nephew, Alan Joseph Nicolich, Jr., and her nieces, Catalina (Sidney) Fuller, Linda (Alan) Nicolich, Esmeralda (Hermes), Gloria Maria, and Natasha Sardinas.
She will always be remembered as such a loving and giving person. She always put her family before herself!
A visitation for Catalina will be held Tuesday, August 2, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 1:00 PM at Metairie Cemetery, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124.
