Catherine Riehl Morrow

Catherine was the beloved wife of 70 years of John A. Morrow, Sr., who preceded her in death in 2019; the mother of Sharon, John (Diane), George (Tawny), and Stephen (Donna) Morrow; the grandmother of Shawn (Jeffrey), Jessica (Bryan), Ryan, Kevin (Rachel), Christopher, Andrew (Allison), and Rachael (Elle) Morrow; the great-grandmother of Ellie and Cooper Hansen, Billie (Teagan) Rylie, Charlie, Jack, Grace, Calvin and CoCo Morrow; the great great-grandmother of Kaleb, Kai, and Taysom LeBlanc, and Logan, Blake, Lyla, River, and Samantha Richard; and dear to Kim, Ron (Michaela), Ross (Kaycee), Josh, and Jeremy Richard, whom she loved as well.

Catherine was always ready to open her arms and home to all, cooking for us on Fridays until she was in her 90s. Her family was her life and her joy. She had a final journey when she moved to Inspired Living at Kenner, where she made many friends, felt safe and secure in her apartment, and was caringly looked after by the staff of the facility. Catherine had her wonderful friends, “The Golden Girls,” Renee, Anna, and Dottie, with whom she laughed and shared life stories. She also was a member of “The Ladies of Leisure” and a welcoming ambassador of Inspiring Living. Her special friend, Belinda, always included her in the many activities and craft projects at Inspired, in which Catherine took great pride.

A visitation for Catherine will be held Wednesday, November 15, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124, followed by a memorial mass at 12:00 PM, and inurnment thereafter at Lake Lawn Park, 5454 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, Louisiana 70124.
