

Charles “Chick” Daniel Ordes I, retired manager of Barry Mfg. Co. and previously a retired supervisor for The American Can Company passed away on June 5, 2017 at the young age of 88. Born March 23, 1929 in New Orleans, La to Thomas Vincent Ordes I and Hilda Marie Stultz, Charlie attended Warren Easton High School and graduated from Delgado Community College Trade School. He enlisted in the Air National Guard/U. S. Air Force in 1951 and served our country for 15 months during the Korean War. Charles was very much a family oriented man devoting his spare time to be loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Being a good Catholic was very important to him therefore he focused his life on being a good provider for his family along with extending his assistance to anyone who would need it. Any time he was able to you would find him fishing with family as he was raised by a fisherman (his father). That legacy is a part of each of his surviving family members. Charles was a very humble, kind, respectful, generous, professional and loving man who will be dearly missed. Charles was preceded in death by his wife Kathleen Marie Clement, brother Thomas Vincent Ordes II, son Charles Daniel Ordes II and grandson Ty Fairley. He is survived by his sister Constance Ann Ordes Russo, life partner Sheila M. Hernandez, their children; Stephen John Ordes (Gail) and Bonnie Ann Ordes Alfonso; 15 grandchildren; Sadie Jeanne Ordes (Jason Powell), Charles Daniel Ordes III, Donald Anthony Ordes (Lisa), Chrissy Ordes McRae (Brian), Calvin Joseph Ordes, Todd Thomas Ordes, Joshua Daniel Cusson, Ashley Theresa Cusson, Kristle Allen Duke (Justin), and Nicholas Charles Jackson, Peyton Voiselle, Winston Sucher, Isabella LaCour, Catherine Claire LaCour, Zed Michael LaCour Jr., 18 great grandchildren; Oliver Ordes, Devin Ordes, Isabella Ordes, Katelyn Ousley, Chloe Ordes, Kayla Ordes, Paislie Ordes, Mila Ordes, Selma Ordes, Lance Cusson, Chloe Powell, Carter Fairley, BriAnna McRae, Aaliyah Banks, Colton Duke, Julianna Cusson, Charles Wyatt Ordes, Caden Duke and Scarlette Jackson. Friends and family are invited to attend the wake and funeral service at Lake Lawn Funeral Home in Metairie, La on Friday June 9, 2017. Visitation begins at noon with the service to follow at 2:00 pm.
