Charles “JayBird” James Nissel, Jr. on Tuesday, December 15, 2015. Age 54 years. Beloved brother of Leslie Chassaniol and Laura Nissel. Nephew of Mary Lynne Friedman and Peggy Hebbler. Uncle of John and Alison Chassaniol and Isabel Aksimsek. Also survived by numerous cousins and friends. “JayBird” was born in New Orleans and was a resident of Lakeview for many years. He moved to Gonzales, LA where he has resided for the past 9 years. Jay was self employed at Jobbers Oil Transport Co. for the past 30 + years. He attended De La Salle High School and LSU. Jay was a generous lover of people. He enjoyed music, owning and fostering animals and riding his Harley. He also enjoyed offering his time and resources to help others, and was dearly loved by all who knew him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. (in Metairie Cemetery) on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at 2:00 PM. Visitation will begin at 12:00 NOON. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park.
