Charles H. Pavone, “Charlie,” 92 of Metairie, La, and long time resident of New Orleans, passed away at his home where his son, Charles Michael, resided with him. He is preceded in death by his wife, Alice Bolden, mother and father, Catherine Dodge Pavone and Angelo Pavone, brothers Angelo, August, Frank, and Samuel Pavone, and sister, Centene Pavone Albers. He is also preceded by two little angels, Grayson Katab and Katherine Mahoney, and a pet beagle, Buck. Mr. Pavone served honorably in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a boxing champ in ports around the world. He loved everyone, and they loved him; he gave all of himself to everyone. Never did he miss birthdays; he made sure to call and send gifts near and far. Mr. Pavone grew up in New Orleans and worked at the Pontchatrain Hotel for years. New Orleans is where he met his beloved, beautiful wife, Alice “Mickey” Bolden. They both had a beautiful life together and a wonderful family. His career in real estate began with his brother, Augie, in the seventies, and ended with Latter and Blum at the age of 85. He is survived by his six children; Charles M. Pavone (who resided with him), Gail Shriver (Richard), Alice Mahoney, Richard Pavone, Carol Hopton (John), and Sheilah Hurstell (Thomas). Mr. Pavone is also survived by his grandchildren; Cassandra Rabalais (Daniel), Todd Shriver (Jennifer), Leslie Shriver, Karen Mahoney, Edwin R. Mahoney, Nicole Smith (Justin), Alyssa Hopton, Elizabeth Hurstell, Lindsey Hopton, and many cousins of grandchildren, whom he loved. He also had several great grandchildren, including Andrew Mahoney, Rachel Rabalais, Isabella and Everett Katab, Jacob and Luke Shriver, Chloe Hopton, River Smith, and one more to be born this month. He will be missed forever and live long in our hearts and lives. As a positive role model, always doing good for people, we have learned to respect others, and help one another, because things could always be worse. As PawPaw would love to say, “See you in the moonlight.” We will surely feel him in the moonlight. May God bless everyone whom he touched, and peace be with him now. Amen. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a visitation beginning at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 5, 2016 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchatrain Blvd, New Orleans, La 70124.
