

Born September 4, 1928. Died on January 1, 2017. Preceded in death by his parents and siblings. Survivors include: Joseph C. Jaeger (Cousin), Lesslie L. Vives (Sister-in-law), Bryan Vives (Nephew) and Sharon Dupuy (Niece) and Stephanie Vives Mellgren (Niece). Always dear to the heart of the deceased, the late Michael J. Jaeger, nephew. Mr. Vicari served in the U.S. Marines for twenty-one years and also served in both the Korean War (1950-1951) and the Vietnam War (1966-1967) and was a graduate of the University of New Orleans. He was a volunteer at the National World War II Museum since the opening on June 6, 2000 in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was a member of the Marine Corps League, Paul Boyd Detachment; as well as a member of the American Legion Post 23, a member of the 1st Marine Division Association; a member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart, a member of the "Chosen Few," a member of the Iwo-Jima Association; and a former volunteer at the Aquarium of the Americas. Charles was a long time resident of Whitney Place in Metairie. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 from 12:00 p.m. until the Memorial Mass at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be held at a later date at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery.
