Chester Joseph Falterman
April 7, 1953 – July 4, 2018
Dr. Chester J. Falterman, age 65, of Murfreesboro, TN passed away on July 4, 2018. He was born in Napoleonville, LA to the late Lester Patrick Falterman and Genevieve LeBlanc Falterman. He was preceded in death by his sister Eleanor Talbot and brother Timothy Falterman. He is survived by his wife, Debbie Falterman, son Chad Falterman, brothers Anthony Falterman and Patrick 'Buddy' Falterman, nieces Michelle Rogers and Toni Falterman, and nephew, Ryan Falterman. More than anything, Dr. Falterman was a dedicated husband and loving father who truly walked with the Lord. Dr. Falterman graduated Salutatorian from Assumption High School in 1971. He then went to Nicholls State University in Louisiana where he completed his pre-medical coursework with honors. He graduated from the LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans in 1978. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine from the University of South Alabama, then completed a fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at Oschner Foundation Hospital in New Orleans, with multiple board certifications. Dr. Falterman practiced as an Interventional Cardiologist on the Westbank of New Orleans, LA from 1983-2008. He has been employed as an Interventional Cardiologist at St. Thomas Heart since 2008. Throughout his career, Dr. Falterman pioneered numerous studies and authored countless journals in the field of Cardiology. He was an elder at Grace Presbyterian Church in Metairie, Louisiana from 2003 to 2008. He was a member of Bell Aire Baptist Church and is currently a member of Third Baptist in Murfreesboro. First and foremost in his life was his great love for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and his steadfast daily devotion to God's word. His outside interests included hiking with his son, going to dinner with his wife and enjoying fellowship life with dear friends and family. If time permitted during the day, he thoroughly enjoyed his 10 minute naps to get him through his workdays and nightly calls. He is intensely loved and will be greatly missed by all of the lives he touched...patients, family, and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Love a Child (https://loveachild.com/) or Missions at One Heart Church, Norcross, GA (http://oneheartchurch.org/ministries/missions/). There are no words to describe our sadness for you and your family. You were the kindest, most generous, most genuine and most faithful friends in the whole world!

Debbie and Chad and family my name is Wayne Ory. Dr Falterman was my Cardiologist and friend when he was at West Jefferson in Jefferson Parish. I started with Chester in 1990 and 1993 I had open heart surgery. After surgery he would ask me to go to the hospital and speak to heart patience after surgery to start walking. When I did one of my many marathon I dedicated my walk and gave my award (metal) to him. He was an outstanding doctor but a wonderful friend. He will be missed and my prayer are with you and your son. I cannot make the service due to medical problems, He will always be in prayers and thoughts.
