

Christopher Anthony Bertucci, Jr. passed away peacefully on July 12, 2026, at the age of 89. Born on April 13, 1937, in New Orleans, LA, he was the son of the late Agnes LeBlanc Bertucci and Christopher Bertucci. A lifelong resident of the New Orleans area, Chris was a graduate of Fortier High School and attended LSU. He built a distinguished career in real estate, becoming a respected broker and earning numerous professional certifications. Alongside his beloved wife and fellow real estate broker, he owned and operated a successful real estate firm, Bertucci Realty, Inc. His professionalism, integrity, and commitment to serving others earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Chris dedicated much of his life to service. He was past president of the Jaycees and was deeply committed to his Catholic faith. Ordained as a permanent deacon in 1991, he devoted himself to serving God’s people. He ministered at St. Philip Neri, St. Ann, St. Pius X Catholic Church and at parishes in Mississippi. He also provided pastoral care at EJ Hospital, Orleans Parish Prison, and Southeast LA Mental Health Hospital in Mandeville, bringing compassion, encouragement, and faith to those in need.
Chris was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Russell Bertucci, Rosalie Aleman, Peter Bertucci, and Jimmie Bertucci; and his beloved son, Christopher A. Bertucci, III.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Elizabeth Maenza Bertucci; his children, Leslie Bertucci, Elizabeth Bertucci, and Maria Villafranco (Danny); his grandchildren, Michael Ural, Jr., Henri Lespinasse, Anna Kedzuch, Brittany Winter, Daniel Villafranco, Jr., Bradley Oster, Alex Lespinasse, Christian Villafranco, Sophia Villafranco, and Dante Bertucci-Ness; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Chris had a joyous and generous spirit, a wonderful sense of humor, and a gift for making others smile. He loved to laugh, have fun, and share his love of art, music, travel, and good food with family and friends. His kindness, warmth, faith, and devotion to others will remain an inspiration to all who knew and loved him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation on Friday, July 17, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church in New Orleans, followed by Mass celebrated by Archbishop James Checchio at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
