Christopher “Big Gas” Michael Gassen on January 11, 2017. Age 50 years. Son of Sybil Champagne and the late Sidney F. Gassen, Jr., Beloved husband of Darlene Schwall Gassen. Father of Jessica Paige Gassen (James Head) and Jessica Lynn Bunney. Grandfather of Kayden Marie Head and Christopher James Head. Brother of Sidney F. “Butch” Gassen, III (Dawn), Curtis Wilbert Gassen (Amy), Ross Gassen and Brandon Gassen. Brother-in-law of Larry Schwall (Kim), Thomas Schwall (Tina) and Louis Schwall (Shannon). Son-in-law of Larry Schwall and the late Rose Marie Schwall. He loved restoring his Jeep, spending time at the camp, fishing, hunting, sky diving and most of all his two grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by all. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. (in Metairie Cemetery) on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 12:00 Noon. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
