Clare Levy Caballero

Clare Levy Caballero passed away peacefully at home on January 23, 2019, at the age of 90. Born in New Orleans, LA on August 13, 1928. Clare graduated from Sacred Heart High School on Canal Street and attended Dominican College. She married the love of her life, Ralph “Putsy” Caballero, at 19 years old and was married 68 years. Clare and Putsy had 7 children, 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren and they were absolutely the most important part of her life. “SHE WAS ALL ABOUT FAMILY”.

She was a mother and grandmother to everyone. Her big pots of food and welcoming attitude to everyone will be missed by many people. She is preceded in death by her parents, Daniel Louis Levy and Clare Casey Levy, her beloved husband Ralph “Putsy” Caballero, her son John Russell Caballero & her brother Daniel Louis Levy, Jr. Clare is survived by her sister Jackie Levy Caballero, her sons Rickey Caballero (the late Angelle) (fiancée Angela Ham), Ralph “Cabby” Caballero (Barbara), Danny Caballero (Orlean), Steve Caballero (Connie), and her daughters Clare Caballero & Audrey Caballero Nuss (George); Grandchildren Kelli Doussan, Dusten Caballero, Jennifer Caballero, Rachael Caballero, Carly Caballero, Stephanie Caballero, Christopher Caballero, Jordan Nuss & Kristen Nuss; Great Grandchildren River Doussan and Kyson Dantin. The family would like to give special thanks to Maria, Rose and Terry from Lakeside Hospice. They were a blessing to the family along with Missy and Annie who helped take care of their wonderful mom and grandmother.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Metairie Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. until service time.
