Born in Cuba, she came to the United States in 1969 with her parents and brothers and made a home in New Orleans for herself and her son. She later lived in Kenner, Louisiana with her brother, Ruperto, and her son, Wealthe Lueiro.
Consuelo was of strong character and of stronger faith. Every challenge life gave her, she faced it devout in her faith in God and on her own terms. Consuelo would spend her time praying for her family and her friends, and belonged to a prayer group for many years. She attended St. Anthony of Padua Church until she moved to Kenner.
Consuelo was known and loved by many; she was always available to share conversation, a cup of coffee, and prayer. She shared her years of experience, and the wisdom that comes with it, with anyone who asked her for advice.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lorenzo Seoane, mother, Maxima Seoane, her brothers, Lorenzo, Eduardo, and Ruperto Seoane, and nephew, Osvaldo Seoane.
She is survived by her only son, Wealthe Lueiro, her grandchildren, Ana Gladys Raquel and Luis Eduardo Lueiro, and her 6 great-grandsons. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Martha Seoane, and her nephews, Eduardo, Lazaro, Leonardo, Richard, and David Seoane.
Consuelo’s legacy is love for family, strength in the face of adversity, and take the time to enjoy fellowship and a good cup of coffee. It is not what you take when you leave this world behind, it is what you leave behind when you go.
