Courtney Giarrusso

Courtney Elizabeth Giarrusso, born March 30, 1981, passed away on May 27, 2014 at Touro Infirmary from complications of pneumonia. Courtney was a lifelong New Orleans resident who thrived on the vibrance and energy of her hometown. She was a radiant presence in the lives of all who knew and loved her. Despite her physical limitations, Courtney persevered and inspired family and friends as an advocate for the rights of the disabled and a counselor for those facing personal hardship. Courtney will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate enough to share her life. Courtney is survived by her mother, Hon. Robin M. Giarrusso, her brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Cassie Giarrusso, and her beloved nieces, Sofia and Marta Giarrusso. Courtney’s father, Joseph Giarrusso, Jr., preceded her in death. A visitation for Courtney will be held on Friday, May 30, 2014 from 9:30 to 11:30 at Temple Sinai, 6227 St. Charles Avenue, with a service at 11:30. Burial will follow at Metairie Cemetery.
