After a life well-lived, Cynthia Marie Hoffman Peneguy Couturier passed away on Friday, June 22, 2018. Cynthia was the widow of Richard A. Peneguy, by her first marriage, and of John D. Couturier, by her second marriage. Cynthia is survived by her children, Richard A. Peneguy, Jr., Elizabeth Peneguy Green (John), Mark E. Peneguy, and Christopher T. Peneguy (Susan); her grandchildren, Richard A. Peneguy, III, Corinne Peneguy Finan (David), Matthew R. Peneguy (Maritza), Nathaniel R. Peneguy, Jonathan E. Green (Mary Beth), James M. Green, Stephen J. Green (Crissy), David C. Peneguy, Jr., Matthew J. Peneguy, and Daniel M. Peneguy; her great-grandchildren, Ciara R. Finan, Gabrielle L. Finan, John D. R. Finan, Cecilia F. Finan, Daniella L. Peneguy, Elizabeth K. Green, Carolina M. Green, Patrick E. Green, Elsie M. Green, Adele L. Green, Josephine F. Green, and Grace E. Peneguy. Cynthia is also survived by her step-children, Jeanne Couturier Marciante (A.J.), and W. Richard Couturier (Linda), and by her step-grandchildren, Amanda S. Ducote, Christopher Lattie, Heather Kehoe Passler (Richard), Michelle Kehoe Ogden (Field), Christopher M. Kehoe, Justin D. Couturier, Brandon H. Couturier, and Chalon N. Couturier, and by their families. In addition to her husbands, Cynthia was also preceded in death by her son, David C. Peneguy (Sarah), and her daughter-in-law, Lynne S. Peneguy, Richard, Jr.’s wife, and by Cynthia’s parents, Yvonne Fernandez Hoffman and John Cottraux Hoffman, and her siblings, Phyllis, Betty, and John C., Jr. Cynthia attended the Academy of the Sacred Heart and Newcomb College. She enjoyed travel, friends, bridge, her pets, and daily Mass. Special thanks to those who assisted Cynthia, including the staffs at Poydras Home and Right at Home, and particularly, Debra Gilmore, for the care and love she provided. A Mass of Christian Burial was said at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, on Wednesday, June 27th, and interment followed.
