Daniel Edward Anderson, age 70, passed away peacefully while surrounded by family and friends after a long battle with chronic kidney disease and atrial fibrillation. He was a lifelong resident of Metairie, Louisiana. He was the son of Margaret Mattingly Anderson and Edward Joseph Anderson, Jr., who both preceded him in death.
He is survived by his twin brother, David Anderson (Donna) and his younger sister, Bonnie Schwartz (Vincent), who he always referred to as his “baby sister.” He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Courtney Anderson, Philip Schwartz (Hallie), Vincent Schwartz, Jr. (Sarah), and Andie Schwartz. Daniel enjoyed visiting with family, especially during the holidays, and enjoyed his great nieces and nephews.
Daniel loved cars, and he loved to work on them as well as fix things around the house. He would offer to help friends and family with things that needed to be done. He had a tool for almost any job. He also enjoyed attending car shows with friends and was an avid history and war movie watcher.
In addition to family, Daniel had a large group of supportive friends and met with them often. He will be greatly missed by them, and especially Chris Railey, who was always there for him. He also maintained close contact with his cousin, Jimmy Mattingly.
