David Francis Spellman

David Francis Spellman died on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at the age of 65. He was a native of New Orleans and resident of Metairie. He graduated from Delgado Community College and had a career as a Crane Operator. He was a member of IUOE Local 406 Operating Engineers and Central South Carpenters. David enjoyed martial arts-specifically taekwondo, classic rock music, playing the guitar, which he was really good at, cooking steaks and seafood. He had a passion for homesteading, especially raising chickens and quails. David was a selfless, extremely hardworking and generous soul who truly loved his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Roxana Spellman. David is survived by his devoted wife, Marina Spellman; his daughters, Maria Hanna and Alena Alexeeva; and his son, Stephen Spellman. The family would like to give special thanks to all those who offered prayers, support and kindness during this difficult time. Relatives and friends are invited to attend services for David at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA on Saturday, February 21, 2026. Visitation will be from 12:00PM until Mass begins in the chapel at 2:00PM. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum
