David Kent Templeton passed away peacefully at his home in Brandon, MS on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, from complications of Parkinson’s Disease. He was born on March 18, 1945, in New Orleans, LA, to the late Clenton and Eunice Templeton.
He graduated from Ridgewood Preparatory High School in 1963. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from Loyola University in May, 1972 and completed his MBA In December 1976. David served honorably in the U.S. Navy for two years (1969-1970) as an assistant navigator aboard the U.S.S. Seafox (submarine). He worked as a controller and Chief Financial Officer at Crescent Construction Company for over 30 years until his retirement in 2008. He was a past member of the Krewe of Caesar.
Dave loved to fish, hunt, cook, and host parties, especially seafood boils with endless piles of crabs, crawfish, and shrimp. He loved his family and friends and any activity that brought everyone together to laugh, tell stories, share a meal, and spend time together. Dave had a huge generous heart and shared his life and love openly in many directions. He had a knack for bringing levity, joy, and humor in any situation and told jokes until the very end, which often started with “a duck walked into a bar”.
Dave is survived by the love of his life for 41 years, Lynn Hensarling Templeton, daughter, Col. Elizabeth Blanchford, sons, Andrew Templeton, Shane Morrow (Stephanie Hatten), and Jason Morrow (Dorinda), grandchildren, Isabella and Aiden Blanchford, Riley Templeton, Morgan Morrow (Josh Sanders), Meghan Morrow, Dalton Colson, Ethan Morrow (Kayla), Addison Morrow, Trey Clark (Bella) and Cooper Clark, and great-grandchildren, Charlie Morrow and Brooklyn Clark.
